Flame Spray
The coating material is melted by oxyfuel flam, and carried by the flame and air jets to the workpiece.
- Fuel: acetylene, propane, hydrogen
- Coating material: wire or powder form
Advantage
- Coating equipment is simple and chip
- Easy to control coating parameters
- Relatively high deposition rate
Disadvantage
- Limited coating materials having low meting point
- Relatively low coating density and bond strength
Applications
- Metal coating: Zn, Al, Cu, Stainless Steel, Mo
- Abradable coating: Al-Ceramic
